Recovery after Vaginal Rejuvenation – Vaginoplasty
You have decided to have a Vaginoplasty, but you still have one major concern, the recovery time. At Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery, we know you have a job, children, and even a household to run, so you cannot afford anything unexpected. We will let you know exactly what to anticipate after your surgery.
The Vaginoplasty will take about an hour to complete. After you are fully awake from the anesthesia, and completely stable, you will be able to go home and rest. For the first couple of days, there will be some minor discomfort. You will be prescribed medications to help with the pain. An antibiotic is usually prescribed before surgery, as well, although there is a very small chance for infection. An ice pack over the first 24-72 hours will be comforting and help to decrease swelling.
After about three to five days of rest, you will be able to go back to work. While you should add physical activity slowly, as you are feeling better, there is no reason you should not be able to resume your normal daily activities at this point. While the area may still be a little sore, you will be able to get back to your life, whether it is driving across town, cleaning the house, or even spending eight hours behind a desk. Heavy lifting or strenuous exercise should wait until about three weeks after the surgery.
You will see continued healing as the weeks go by. The redness and swelling will decrease and you will start feeling like our old self again – only better! In six weeks you will be ready to resume sexual activities and begin wearing a tampon again.
Vitenas Cosmetic Surgery has been performing Vaginoplasty for over 25 years. We understand you may have many questions or concerns about the procedure, let us discuss these with you and put your mind at ease. We also make ourselves available 7 days a week, should our patients need anything during their healing process.
